At JLA we not only enjoy what we do, but also who we work with.

OUR CULTURE

In a world where the impact of climate change is now a substantial reality, sustainability lies at the heart of everything we do. It is not just about the places that we create, however; true sustainability starts from within and is as much about creating a fair, stimulating and ethical working environment as it is about creating greener buildings.

Much of our strength is defined by the quality of those who work with us. We strive hard to create a culture of opportunity that allows people to develop and express themselves within the practice.

WORKING AT JLA

Our head office in Richmond, Surrey gives us a Central London location that is just a short distance to the major financial hub of the City.

A core value of the practice includes a commitment to inclusivity and equality in everything we do as town and country planning consultants, both in the office and also in the projects we undertake. We are committed to early local engagement and talking to communities to understand how development will benefit and affect them.

OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY

Over the years we have enjoyed the fact that, in addition to our role as professionals working on the national stage, we are also members of our vibrant local communities. We have taken an active role in developing links with local schools, businesses and community groups, as well as our local authority (London Borough of Richmond upon Thames).

We have also provided pro bono advice to support local initiatives.

SUSTAINABILITY & GOVERNANCE

JLA, a charactered planning practice (RTPI), is committed to ensuring that everything we do is ethical, responsible and, as far as possible, makes a positive difference to our environment and the communities we engage with.

How we act must meet the following principles:

  • Environmental: Preserving our world for future generations.

  • Social: Consideration of wellbeing and ensuring inclusivity and opportunity for all.

  • Governance: Taking responsible and conscientious management decisions.
