JLA, chartered with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), is a London based independent town and country planning consultancy, providing an informed and effective service to designers, architects, landowners and developers. Established in 2009, we work proactively and have a reputation for clear persuasive advice. We achieve consents for our clients.

OUR SERVICES
Our area of expertise lies in urban development management, including leading planning, listed building and conservation area negotiations in sensitive environmental locations.
We have extensive experience with local development framework policy representations, assisting with Section 106 negotiations as well as undertaking planning appeals, public enquiries and providing expert witness evidence. We regularly undertake urban design, masterplanning, environmental assessment and heritage assessment works as and when required by our clients.

James Lloyd B.Sc (Hons) M.Sc TCP MRTPI
James, who lives in Richmond, completed his Town and Country Planning studies at The Bartlett, UCL’s Faculty of the Built Environment. James is a qualified member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) with more than 20 years of experience.
James’s project experience spans community and complex mixed-use development, as well as delivering wide strategic client visions including portfolio management. His extensive experience also means that he regularly advises clients with confidence on listed building issues, planning enforcement matters and planning law.
James worked at CREATE Planning for over 7 years and was a Company Director and Head of Planning. James played a crucial role in expanding the practice’s client base and bringing forward successful and award-winning schemes.

Bryan Staff B Tech TRP
Bryan studied Town and Regional Planning at the Natal Institute of Technology and started his career working on residential and mixed-use developments in Durban, South Africa.
Bryan moved to the UK in 2003 and has gathered more than 20 years’ experience working at several Local Planning Authorities in London. Notably, Bryan worked at the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames as an Area Team Leader for five years, overseeing a range of major planning applications, appeals and judicial reviews.
Bryan has also gained 7 years of experience in the private sector with Create Planning as a Director working on a range of planning applications, (some of which short listed for the National Planning Awards and various architectural awards) and appeals, including Hearings and Public Inquiries across London and the Home Counties.
